CLOVER Desk Needle Threader (pink)

Desk style Needle Threader by CLOVER
When we get to that stage in life where threading a needle becomes an issue: Don’t despair, there is help out there.
Clover claims that it works with a variety of sewing and quilting needles, from fine to thick sizes and is simple to operate.
We have bought this Clover needle threader having seen it at a trade show and are testing one at home at the moment: So far, so good! 🙂
We have used a 50WT Cotton thread and have successfully threaded the following:
- John James Sharps (No 8, 9 and 10)
- John James Embroidery Sharps (no 8, 9 and 10)
- Bohin Embroidery Sharps (no 9 and 10)
- Bohin large Eye Quilting (no 10)
- Clover Gold Eye Applique Needles (no 10)
- Clover Gold Eye Quilting Between (no 10)
- Tulip Applique Big eye (no 10)
- Tulip Milliners Big eye (no 10)
- Tulip Embroidery Sharps (no 10)
– all repeatedly, with a 8 out of 10 success rate – which we think is fine.
We have not yet tested no 11 or no12 needles. When we have done so, we will add the results here. 🙂
It did NOT thread very large Embroidery/Darning needles – this is due to the position of the needle eye and Thread-hook not lining up.
How to use the needle threader: It is easy to use once you get the hang of it : simply drop the needle in the feed hole, lay the thread over the thread slot (hold down on both sides loosely with thumb and index finger), and push down the lever. Most of the time you can tell straight away when the needle get’s ‘engaged’ – lift up the needle an pull the thread through the eye. We will be trying other brand needles and sizes (thick and fine) and report back here. 🙂 (Nancy says she will definitely be keeping her’s!)
Happy Threading!
(Please not this item will be posted as a 2nd Class ‘parcel’ as it is ‘bulky’!)
